The Parks and Recreation Department enhances residents’ quality of life through the maintenance of City parks, the delivery of recreational programs, and the coordination of community-focused events. The department offers a wide range of opportunities for residents to participate in sports leagues, fitness programs, and family-friendly activities. Parks and Recreation is committed to providing safe, inclusive, and well-maintained spaces that foster community connection and engagement throughout Obetz.
Residents who live within the City of Obetz are eligible to apply for a Black Card. Applications are available through the link below.

Admission & Usage
The Junction Park Splash Pad will open Memorial Day Weekend to both Obetz residents and non-residents for the 2026 season. Obetz Black Card holders receive free admission and may bring up to two guests per household per visit, while non-residents are welcome for a daily fee of $5 per person. All visitors must check in at the rental window and wear a wristband for entry.
The splash pad is designed for children 12 years of age and under. Children must be accompanied by someone 16 years of age or older. Individuals 13 years of age or older may enter the splash pad only when supervising children ages 6 and under or an individual with special needs. Adults and teens should not remain in the splash pad area without a child present.
The Junction Park Shelter House is available for all splash pad visitors but is not available for rentals.

Admission
Admission is FREE for residents. Non-residents must purchase a $5 day pass (cash only).
First Visit Requirements: Please provide proof of residency (Obetz Black Card or Driver's License with an Obetz address). Minors must have a parent or guardian present to sign a waiver.
Please note that the ice rink may shut down on any given day due to weather conditions to preserve the integrity of the ice. This decision will be at the discretion of the staff and can occur before or during a skating session. All closures or delays will be posted on the Obetz Facebook page as soon as possible. Additionally, 2-hour limits may be enforced on Saturdays and Sundays if we are nearing capacity.
Opening Date and Closures
The opening date for the Ice Rink is weather dependent, requiring approximately a week of continuous freezing temperatures to create ice. We will provide updates on the opening date both here and on our social media channels once the ice rink is ready for the season.

Experience Obetz’s Revitalized Junction Park!
Junction Park, formerly known as Lancaster Park, has been revitalized to provide enhanced recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The park features a variety of outdoor amenities, including cornhole, pickleball, and chess and checkers areas, offering engaging activities for all ages.
Phase II of the project will include the construction of a new walkway featuring custom commemorative bricks available for purchase.
